How to Refill Your AutoChlorinator™ Chemicals

Refilling chemicals takes just 10 minutes and only needs to be done every 6 months. Follow these simple steps for safe, mess-free refills.

What You'll Need

  • Chlorine or bromine solution (any brand)
  • Test reagent refill kit (included with AutoChlorinator™)
  • Small funnel (optional, makes filling easier)
  • Towel or cloth for cleanup

Remove the AutoChlorinator™ from Your Hot Tub

Lift the device out of the water and place it on a towel near your hot tub. The device will indicate when it's time for a refill through the status light.

Tip: Wait 5-10 minutes to let excess water drip off before opening the chemical reservoir.

Open the Chemical Reservoir

Twist the top cap counterclockwise to unlock and remove it. You'll see two separate chambers: one for sanitizer (chlorine/bromine) and one for test reagent.

Safety Note: Always work in a well-ventilated area when handling pool chemicals.

Fill the Sanitizer Chamber

Pour your chlorine or bromine solution into the larger chamber until it reaches the "MAX" fill line. Use a funnel to avoid spills. The chamber holds up to 6 months of sanitizer for average usage.

Tip: Don't overfill past the MAX line—leave room for the dosing mechanism to operate properly.

Refill the Test Reagent

Pour the test reagent solution into the smaller chamber until it reaches the fill line. This reagent is what allows the AutoChlorinator™ to test your water continuously.

Close and Secure the Cap

Replace the top cap and twist clockwise until you hear a click. Make sure it's fully sealed to prevent water contamination.

Return to Hot Tub

Place the AutoChlorinator™ back in your hot tub. The device will automatically resume testing and dosing. The status light will turn green when it's operating normally.

Done! You won't need to refill again for another 6 months.

  • Wipe up any spills immediately with water
